Praetorians uses the DirectXplay port to play the Game Online. See the Ports for the Connectiontype down this line.

Additionally

• look up if your internal Firewall allows the Game and/or Gameconnector or Ports as Service
• look up if your protection software allows the Game and/or Gameconnector or Ports as Service
• some tools hide your System from being visible from the outside , check it.
  • SpyBot Host deny

VODAFONE problems VODAFONE is a UMTS connector

• it reduces speed when 5GB traffic limit is reached.
• Ports are closed and can't be forwarded through the modem.
  • use Hamachi to connect.

If you have a TIME-OUT or nobody can join or see your Host games , then your router needs to forward the ports to your PC. These Ports are the communication ports to interact with other players.

These Ports need to be forwarded in your router modem.

called :

• portforwarding
• NAT

Some Modems have a build in router or firewall and also need to open the Ports

• The Router Web-Admin-Panel is mostly http://your-router-ip.
  1. Enter this address in your Browser and Login.
  2. Search for the Port Forwarding and add your Application Ports.
  3. restart your router to apply changes to network.

1. Start Game
2. Go to menu Multiplayer
3. Select your LAN Type
4. Host or insert IP from Host
5. Connect

TCP+UDP Port: 2300-2400 (it is one entry for a range of ports at config)

GameSpy have many abilitys but need alot of Ports. Sometimes this is more secure.

1. start Gamespy
2. go Praetorians Main Lobby
   1. as Host click
      1. create room
      2. wait for players
      3. launch room
   2. as Player
      1. select yellow room
      2. press join
      3. wait for host to launch

It tunnels all the Ports through an open port. It is a man in the middle system, so take care about your security and never have it active all the time.

Hamachi has its own LAN type and own IP to connect.

1. start Hamachi
2. join Network
   1. as a Host
      1. start Praetorians Game
      2. go multiplayer
      3. select Hamachi LAN type
      4. start host
      5. wait for players or tell them your Hamachi IP
   2. as a Client
      1. wait until Host is up
      2. start Praetorians Game
      3. go multiplayer
      4. select Hamachi LAN type
      5. insert Host Hamachi IP
      6. connect

not that i know now , but you have to tell your firewall to accept it to internet.

Easy as it is, you can join rooms when they have not a green light alreeady , or you simple host your room .

The hosting guy simple press launch !!!!

The client guy simple can join multiple trys by click JOIN button
